Obituary for Vincent Powell Jr.

Visitation: Monday, June 18, 2012 10am Granberry Mortuary, 8806 Jennings Station Road, St. Louis, MO. Service: 11am Interment: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Vincent Powell Jr. was born June 21, 1938 to the union of the late Mr. Vincent Powell Sr. and the late Harriet Willis in East Saint Louis, IL, he was the second to be born of 5 siblings. Vincent attended East Saint Louis Senior High School. He served in the United States Army from October 24, 1957 and received an Honorable discharge on October 23, 1959. He attended 2yrs at the former State Community College. Vincent worked for Mcdonald Douglas, He then worked for Falstaff Beer until their closing, he worked several years at Chesebrough Ponds, and later worked for Bi-State where he retired in 1998. Vincent was a family man he was always someone who tried to keep family together with his phones calls and dinners. He was a hilarious person and would love to tell jokes that only he would be laughing at. He had a very kind heart and he loved his kids. Vincent was United in Holy Matrimony to the late Louise (Pam) Powell and 2 children where born to this union. Life normally only gives us one special person to be called their wife, however Vincent was Blessed to be United in Holy Matrimony in 1998 to the lovely, kind and beautiful Celeste Powell. Vincent leaves to cherish his memory his wife Celeste Powell, four daughters Terrie (Larry Sykes) Powell of East Saint Louis, IL, Traci Powell, Gail Darris, Teressa Wallace all of St. Louis, MO, two sons Vincent (Vinnie) Powell III of Lansing, MI, Keith Stewart of St. Louis, MO, one brother William Powell of St. Louis, MO, one sister Ruthann Grimes of Detoit, MI, three Grand children, Tiera Louise Powell of East Saint Louis, Aleix Louise Guy of Ofallon, IL, Mina San-Juanita Powell of Lansing, MI, ten Grandchildren and seven Great Grands through marriage. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
