Obituary for Sylvester Epps

Visitation: Friday, March 30, 2012 10am Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 5503 Gilmore Ave. St. Louis, Mo. Service: 12pm Interment: Laurel Hill Cemetery Sylvester Epps was born March 1, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to Mary A. Williams and Robert L. Epps. He was the second of eleven children. He received his formal education at Marshall Elementary and Sumner High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked at a steel company and his last employment was at St. Louis Zoo. He enjoyed taking long walks, watching cowboy movies and boxing; he also enjoyed cooking and reading his favorite books. He was united in Holy Matrimony with Jeraline Jones in 1970. In this union was two daughters and one step-daughter. Preceding him in death was his father, Robert L. Epps; grandson, Terrance C. Harry; his brother, George and sister, Jerlean. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother - Mary A. Smith; stepfather - James Smith, Jr.; three daughters - April Beeton, Essie Session and Jessie Jones; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; four brothers - Donald, John, James III and Lenard; four sisters - Ruthie, Juanita, Deborah and Frieda; three uncles - Floyd, Nathaniel and Cleo; two aunts - Anna and Susie; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-great nieces and nephews and friends.
