Condolence: No words could express what exactly Ms Sides brought into the life of her nursing students. Not only was she a great nurse but she was mom, mentor, advocate to us. She came into my life and brought a strength a courage and a will that she passed on to me. I thank her for all her love and miss this beautiful person very much.

Condolence: Sandra, thank you for being my friend for over 30 years. I will miss you, but you will be alive in my memory. I will remember the times we laughed until tears flowed…we would tell each other laughter is good for the soul. I will remember the days before GPS when “Lewis and Clark” would set out with half of the directions, but we would always find our destination. You were my friend and my confidant. I always knew that if I called you would come. I hope that you knew the same was true for me. When I was going to school or had to work, I always knew that I had you and Brian's grandparents for that last minute babysitter. I knew that Brian was in the best of hands with “Miss Sandy”. When you opened your heart and your home to Darrell and Jerome, I felt like my family had expanding also. We all loved them and still do! Sandra, you tried to be tough, but you had a big marshmallow heart and wanted to do the best for everyone. That is why I know that you have truly gone HOME! Family and friends…Remember John 14: 1-6. God has prepared a place for Sandra.

Condolence From: Brenda Newbern
Condolence: Dear Sandy, I am a God loving, intelligent and confident woman because of YOU! I do not write to say goodbye, I'll say "See you in heaven." Sandy was to me what every woman needs in their life. A 1st cousin who was more like an older sister who would guide, love, discipline and yet keep all my secrets. Taught me to be an older sister and handle my business;the importance of etiquette, whether good or bad like the bible says “All things must be done decently and in order”. She always let me know she was only a phone call away and together we could conquer anything. Our family will forever be in Sandy's debt for always being there for us. I thank you Sandy for stepping up and being the matriarch of our family. Darryl and Jerome you had a great mom. Just like all of us she had her faults but she loved you and only wanted the best life could offer you and so do I. Gary, I thank you for being there for Sandy! To the rest of our family may God's Mercy and Grace see us through. For as long as I can remember I knew I wanted to be like Sandy; from following her on a long dark road;the dorm at nursing school and then "her" boys; she dedicated her entire life to caring for other people. I pray that I touch as many lives as she did. Love you cuz!!! God bless. Brenda
