Obituary for Reginald Anderson

Reginald Clay was born on February 15, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Ida Mae. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brothers Billy and Larry. Reggie graduated from Kinloch High School in 1972 and was the Vice President of his class. After graduating from high school, Reggie moved to Sterling, Kansas to attend Sterling College. At Sterling College, Reggie was very involved. He played basketball, baseball, and football and studied elementary education. While at Sterling, he met Diana Graham. They were united in marriage on August 1, 1981. The couple resided in Quinter, Kansas and welcomed four children. Later Reggie moved to Wichita, Kansas where he was very involved with his church New Beginnings Seventh Day Adventist Church under the leadership of Pastor Carlos McConico. Reggie was very upbeat, friendly guy. He loved sports and went on to coach softball and basketball. This earned him the nickname "Coach". Some of Reggie's hobbies included basketball, music, dancing, and fishing. It was not uncommon to find him singing and dancing while cooking in the kitchen. Reggie's church family was also a big part of his life. He helped with the food program, song service, bible study, and children's ministry. One May 21st, "Reggie was selected to join Heaven's Basketball Team and he peacefully took his position". Reggie leaves to cherish his memories: five children~ Kassim, Jasmyn (Heath) Ostmeyer, Cameron, Jocelyn and Corryn; six grandchildren~ Jody, Kayana, Mason, Graham, Traye and Isley; three brothers~ Carl (Peggy), George (Betty) of Mil Pitas, CA., and Melvin; three sisters~ Claudette Cadamey, Patricia (Ronald) Fletcher, and Linda; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Also dear friends Ezell Parsons, Darryl Henderson, Herman Ward and the entire Kinloch High School Class of 1972. Reggie will be dearly missed.
