Obituary for Ollie Bailey

Ollie Lillard Bailey was born July 31, 1920 in Marvel, Arkansas to the union of Houston and Nancy (Jarrett) Lillard. She was the 7th of 12 children. Ollie married John H. Bailey Sr. and to this union John H. Bailey Jr. was born. All preceded her in death, Houston, Nancy, John H. Bailey Sr. and John H Bailey Jr. All of her siblings proceeded her in death Beatrice Lillard Arnett, Philip Lillard, “the twins who died in their youth, Kermit Lillard, Jarrett (Jake) Lillard, Edmond Lillard, Willie Bea Lillard Cox, Jasper Lillard, Evvie Lillard Mallett, and Emma Lillard. Ollie was baptized in Arkansas at an early age. She loved dogs, hanging out with friends and family and listening to good music. She loved all types of music from country western to the blues. She did not compromise her morals and she was strict when it came to right and wrong. Many times in life she was mistaken as European because of her fair complexion but she knew exactly who she was. She was a giving spirit and loved to give to charitable organizations such as firefighters, police, cancer research and The Humane Society, just to name a few. She always wanted to help anyone that she could. God called her home April 22, 2015 to rest. We rejoice in the life of a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves to mourn three grandchildren, Sherrell Dabney, Shaun Dabney Boyd & Bridgette, a special niece and nephew Lillie Mae Mallett Jackson and John D. Lillard, many nieces and nephews, a host of friends and an extended family.
