Mary Lee Miles was born December 22, 1943 in Tamo, Arkansas to the late Willie Townsend and T. Z. Watson. She departed this life at 11:30a.m., February 6, 2015 at BJC Hospital. She was a twin and the seventh of nine children. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Louis, Robert and Andre Lee (her twin), one sister, Elizabeth and her daughter, Angela Miles. Mary Lee was baptized at an early age at Centennial Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She moved to Saint Louis, Missouri where she joined Original Friendship under the leadership of Rev. AM Smith, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. She married Johnny Miles and to that union six children were born. She attended Pine Bluff Schools. She worked as a cook at North View Nursing Home until she retired. Mary Lee Miles is survived by two sons. Johnny Miles, III and Ronnie (Cerece), LaSand "NaNa", Jacqueline, Lavett all of St. Louis, MO; four brothers, Melvin, Warren, Curtis, Eddie (Bertha) Townsend all of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Bertha and Bobbie Jewel Archie Townsend of California and Earseline White (Billie) of St. Louis, MO; Magnolia McGaskey, Sunny, Wallace, Linda and Brenda Harris of Ft. Worth, Tx; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
