Obituary for Makay Nelson

Makay A. Nelson was born on July 23, 1996 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Nathan Nelson and Samimah Houston. He was born into an Islamic family and attended Al-Mu-Munin Is-lamic Center. He attended Sister Clara Muhammad Elementary School, KG thru 8th grade, which shaped his academic success. Makay attended Vashon High School. He was in the top 20 of his senior class. He had been accepted into Ranken Tech for the Fall of 2014. Makay was a great son, joyous, humorous and loving. He car-ried a very protective love for his mother. He drove his sister Niessah Nelson into humorous fits daily. He often hung out with his brothers and friends. He danced, played football and basket-ball all of his life. One of his missions in life was to bond more and more with his father, Nathan Nelson, Sr. Makay leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Samimah Hou-ston (Jarred Moore); his father, Nathan Nelson, Sr. ( Melody Jackson); siblings, Ahmir King, Darien Jackson, Christian Morhouse, Nathan Nelson, Jr., Niessah Nelson, Malik Salaam, Amir Hunt Salaam, Jazmin Wright and Malachi Nelson; grand-parents, Earlene Shabazz (Karim Shabazz), Michael McDonald, Vanessa McDonald, Ruth Hardimon and Larry Hardimon; great-grandmothers, Alice Terry and Priscilla Nelson. Makay leaves behind a host of cousins and tons of friends. His very special aunt, Kamilah Beyah will truly miss him. The rela-tionship they shared was close to mother and son. Staneshia Morris, Makay’s best cousin will miss him and the years they grew up together side-by-side, laughing and causing chaos.
