Obituary for M. Holland

Dr. Nora Jones, Pastor & Officiant Interment: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. -Life Reflections- Maryland Douglas Holland aka M. Douglas Holland was born October 6, 1921 to Arthur and Mary Holland in Pensacola, Florida. He was one of eleven children. Douglas confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Samaritan United Methodist Church for many years. Douglas was a graduated of Howard University with a Master degree in Mathematics. He also was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Douglas served in the US Army from November, 1942 to December, 1945 and was honorably discharged. He worked as a Civil Service worker for 47 years as a Mathematician for the Defense Mapping Agency Area Space Center. Douglas met and married the love of his life, Sallie Towns. To this union, two (2) daughters were born. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, five (5) brothers and four (4) sisters. On January 7, 2010, Douglas answered the call and went to rest in the arms of the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories two (2) daughters - Lyndia Brown and Sallye Ann Holland; five (5) grandchildren; ten (10) great-grandchildren; two (2) brothers - Robert and Frank Holland; and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
