Services for Lucius Clinkscale are as follows: Thursday, August 09, 2012 at Greater St. Paul M.B. Church, 5503 Gilmore, S. Louis, MO 63120 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Interment will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 at United Memorial Gardens in Plymouth, Michigan. Lucius Clinkscale was born April 12, 1924 in Center Ridge, Arkansas to the late Isaiah and Cora Clinkscale. He was one of 14 children. Lucius was preceded in transition by (7) brothers, John, Rexall, Ernest, Orid, Ed and Osaih; (3) three sisters, Lorine, Myra and Bertha; and (1) grandchild, Andre’. Lucius remained in Arkansas until 1943 where he was blessed with one child, Earlean Hardeman. Lucius then relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan and was united in holy matrimony to Ruby Lee Clinkscale in 1952. Lucius worked for the University of Michigan as a groundkeeper from 1954 until his retirement in 1992. Lucius and Ruby made their home in Michigan until her passing in 2005. Lucius accepted the Lord at a young age and continued his faithful walk at Bethel AME Church. Lucius decided to relocate to Missouri in 2012 where he could be closer to his loving daughter and family. On August 02, 2012, God called Lucius home to be with our Heavenly Father. Lucius leaves to cherish his memory ~ (1) loving daughter, Earlean Hardeman ~ (5) grandchildren, Marcia, Johnnie, Julius, Cachet, and Rashonda ~ (19) great-grandchildren ~ (19) great-great grandchildren, (4) sisters, Katherine (Burton), Ophelia (McDonald), Versa (Dooley), and Omeda (Adams) ~ and a host of nieces and nephews as well as a great list of additional friends and family who will miss him dearly. Lucius will be continually loved and greatly missed. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Praise the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)
