Obituary for Louise Hammonds-Bates

Louise was born on June 22, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the third child of Edward and Annie Hammonds, Sr. Her parents, five brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Louise attended the St. Louis Public School system and graduated from Vashon High School and Chicago Technical School. Louise' achievements were many in life. She worked in Chicago, Illinois for 15 years at Reesce Medical Hospital and also at Malcolm Bliss Hospital here in St. Louis. Louise retired from St. Luke's Hospital as a Laboratory Technician. She was also an Elk and Eastern Star Member. Louise was a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church until her health started declining. Louise made her transition from this life on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Missouri Baptist Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories; her son, Lamont; his siblings - Sheila, Tyress and James; one brother - Leon Hammonds of St. Louis, MO; three sisters - Elsie M. Sample, Sheila Hammonds and Carolyn Hammonds all of St. Louis, MO; two sisters-in-law - Doris Hammonds of Kansas City, MO and Olivia Hammonds of St. Louis, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and a host of many friends.
