Linda Katherine Harris, daughter of the late Preston and Mildred Lockett was born May 16th, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the sixth of eleven children born, five preceding her in death, Betty Jean Stainback, Mary Russell, Donnell Stainback, Cedric Lockett and Terry Lockett. She attended the St. Louis City Public Schools and was a graduate of Northwest High School. Linda also attended Columbia University for three years. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was a faithful member at Progressive Baptist Church. She was employed with the Brown Shoe Company for fifteen years. We will forever reminisce on her contagious laughter and kindness. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of: her children ~ DeJuan Stainback, Michael Harris, Terrance Harris, Ashley Harris of Baltimore, Maryland, Eric Read of Columbia, Illinois and Lamont Read of Columbia, Illinois; eighteen grandchildren; her sisters ~ Mamie Edwards and Renee Lockett; her brothers ~ Larry Stainback, Leroy Stainback and Demarco Stainback; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
