Obituary for Johnny Jefferson

Johnny Jefferson age 59, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in St. Louis, MO. Visitation and Funeral Services were held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1444 South Compton Avenue, Rev. Dr. Sammie E. Jones, Pastor Interment followed at Lake Charles Cemetery. Johnny Jefferson, also known as “Uncle B” or just “B” to most of his friends and loved ones was born June 30, 1951 to Freeman Jefferson and Ella Mae Webb Jefferson in Turrell, Arkansas. His parents and two sisters, Freddie Jefferson and Jo Esther Powell preceded him in death. Johnny was baptized at an early age in Union Grove Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Leroy Johnson. In 1964 he moved to Saint Louis , Missouri. During his adolescent years, Johnny attended the public schools and then matured into a young man where he began to work as a skilled foundry worker. He worked for more than thirty-six years for Gusdorf & Sons and later retired after eleven years with Connector Casting in 2004. In 1973 Johnny met Claudia (Diane) and they united in holy matrimony on March 26, 1986. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 5:02 p.m. Johnny leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory; His wife and soul mate, Claudia (Diane) Jefferson, four daughters; Quiana, Lesia, Aronda all of Saint Louis, MO, Denita, East Saint Louis, IL., two sons; Xavier (Tammy) Keli (Sharon), much loved step-son, Curtis all of Saint Louis, MO, three sisters, Everlina Bledsoe, Lillie Mae Kendrick both of Saint Louis, MO, Bernice Hopkins, Memphis, TN, one brother; Sam Jefferson, Saint Louis, MO, twenty-four grandchildren, one great grandchild (Tino) , a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
