Obituary for Evelyn Smith

A Mother’s Heart A mother’s heart was broken today, The devil has taken her baby away. But don’t you worry and don’t you fret, Because God Almighty is not through with us yet.   I’ll always remember your birthday, And your favorite food, spaghetti, And how you always said, “ Mom, don’t put garlic in it.   I hate garlic .” Or “ Mom, what you got to eat today ?” But most of all, I’ll never forget how you’d call me, Or come by everyday and say in your own special way, With those big brown eyes and a smile so sweet, “ I love you, Mom, now let’s eat .” And we’d talk and laugh and eat at the same time. You would count your change and say, “ Mom, lend me a dime .” I’d fuss, you’d say, “ Okay a quarter ,” then you’d say, ” You got any cold water ?” You’d say, “ Momma, I’ll bring the kids by later and we’ll watch a movie or two .” You’d say, “ Mom, come stay with me.   I’ll take care of you .” I’d say okay, but God understands just the feelings and pain.   But I realize one thing and one thing only, You will always be here in spirit and I’ll never be lonely.   By Mom Myrna Phillips   Visitation:   Wednesday, August 27, 2008    Mt.
