Obituary for Evelyn Page

Ms. Evelyn Page 87, of St. Louis, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 11:11am from complications of pancreatic cancer. She resided at the Northview Village Nursing Facility in Saint Louis, Missouri. Evelyn was born September 23, 1926 in Memphis, Tennessee to the union of the late Henry and Elnor Stainback. She was their only child. Evelyn was educated in both Memphis, Tennessee and Saint Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hadley Tech in Saint Louis in 1944. In 1947 Evelyn was united in marriage to the late Ulysses T. Smith. In 1957 she was united in marriage to the late William James Page. She was the mother of 10 children. Evelyn was employed with the St. Patrick Center in St. Louis, and volunteered for the "Meals on Wheels" program. She received recognition and awards for her unwavering volunteer efforts. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Henry Stainback and Elnor Whiting, spouses Ulysses Smith and William James Page, one daughter Luvenia (9 months), one son Eugene (1 day) and two grandsons Alexander (8), Arkadian (22) and two son-in-laws Andre Ballard, Sr and Robert McClendon. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children Eleanor Ann Litiskas, Beatrice Lucille Young (Leon), Alfred Smith (Shirley), Elizabeth McClendon, Stevie Donnell Smith (Mary V.), William Jerome Page, James Gregory Page, Wilma Jean Campbell (Stan), 31 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and church family members.
