Obituary for Emma Truss

Funeral Services for Mrs. Emma Helen Truss was held, Tuesday,October 12,2010,11:00 A.M. at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, 1260 Hamilton Avenue, Saint Louis, Missouri with Rev. Alvin Smith, Pastor/Officiant. Interment followed at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Emma Helen Truss was born January 19, 1920 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Charles Theodore Temple and Mary McCellan Temple. Her father, mother, three sisters; Alma, Irma and Connie, two brothers and several nieces and nephews all preceded her in death. Emma was educated in Saint Louis public school system. She confessed and accepted a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Emma was a dedicated and supportive disciple of St. Paul A.M.E. Church all of her life. Later years Emma met and married the love of her life, James Truss where they shared many lovely years together. They owned and operated their own business for many years. Emma loved to travel with her friends. She was a very kind and special person, lovingly known as “Aunt Emma” to family and friends. Her personified strength left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was always there for her family. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 6, 2010,Saint Louis, Missouri. Emma leaves to cherish her memory; A loving husband, James Truss, step-daughter; Barbara Jean, Texas, Sister-in-law, Mable Massy, Saint Louis, MO., nephews; Robert (Rosemary), Paul (Jean), nieces, Eleanor, Rochelle and Joann (Anthony), a host of great nieces and nephews,great–great nieces and nephews,great-great-great, nieces and nephews all who loved and cared for her in their own special way, one play daughter whom she loved dearly, Velma.
