Obituary for Earnest Ludgood

Funeral Services for Earnest Lee Ludgood were held, Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Zion M.B. Church 1444 Compton Ave. St. Louis, MO. with Rev. Sammie Jones, Pastor, Rev.Sammie Anthony, officiating. Interment followed in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Earnest Lee Ludgood was born July 3, 1948 to Clarence and Mary Ellen Ludgood. Earnest accepted Christ early in life and later rededicated his life to Christ. He graduated from Harper High in 1966. As a young man Earnest moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he began his work as a carpenter. He later moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he lived and worked until his passing. He was a devoted father, a loving brother, a great friend, a master carpenter and an exceptional cook. He lived a life of helping others and was loved and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Ludgood, his mother Mary Ellen Bush Ludgood, his brother Roy Ludgood, and his brother Thomas Ludgood. Earnest leaves to cherish his memories four children; Earnest Ludgood Jr., Dwayne Erskin Ludgood, Kimberly Ludgood and Von Erskin Fields all of St. Louis, Missouri, three grand children; Kiara Jones, Kaven Johnson, and David Hopkins all of St. Louis, Missouri , one great grandson; Kamorion Jones, St. Louis, Missouri. He is survived by ten siblings; Clarine Phelan, Eightmile, Alabama, David Ludgood, Carlton, Alabama, Mary (Willie) Donald, Lester Ludgood, Sandra (Marvin)Chaney, Norine Ludgood, all of Jackson, Alabama, Tracy (Sara) Ludgood, Honolulu, Hawaii, Bessie Harris, Jackson, Alabama, Dina (Gregory) Savage, McDonough, Georgia, Shirley (Gregory) Fountain,Jackson. Alabama. Also mourning his passing special friends; Myra Fields,and Vera Bush, Henrine Shepherd all of St.Louis, Missouri,six aunts; Emma Mae Washington,Jackson, Alabama, Printella Jackson, Della Mae Ludgood,and Gladys Bush all of Mobile, Alabama, Geneva Bush. Jackson, Alabama, Ellen Sherrill, Englewood, New Jersey, one uncle; Julius Nichols, Mt. Vernon, Alabama,a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
