"A good name is more desirable than great riches." - Proverbs 22:1 Charlene passed to eternal life with Jesus on Saturday, January 2nd at the age of 80. Charlene was born in Green County, Arkansas to Sevier and Gladys Friar on April 24, 1929. Charlene grew up on a cotton farm in Beech Grove, AR. She attended Beech Grove Grade and High Schools. In St. Louis, Charlene worked for Curlee Clothing Co. Charlene was invited to Southwest Church of the Nazarene by her sister Hazel. She attended until being confined to Life Care Center. Charlene was married to John Strong. They met and were married in St. Louis for 45 years. They had four children. Sharon, Kenneth and Diana survive her. Son, Clint Wayne and husband, John preceded her in death. Charlene had three brothers and four sisters. Sisters Vella Fedyk and Linda Friar survive her. Her parents, brothers Willis, Thomas and Billy; sisters Christine and Hazel preceded her in death.
