Obituary for Carrie Bryant-Barnes

Carrie Bell Bryant was born September 16, 1914 to Henry and Cora Bryant in Wesson, Mississippi. Carrie was the fourth child of nine children. Carrie’s parents along with her siblings (William, Lanie, Suggs, Woodrow, Alice, Henry, George and Emma) preceded her in death. Carrie Barnes confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Wesson, Mississippi. Carrie received her education from Copiah County School System in Wesson, Mississippi. In April 1942 Carrie Bryant was united in holy matrimony to Nathaniel Barnes (who preceded her in death March 10, 1976) and the couple moved to St Louis, Missouri September 1942. To this union one child was born, Agnes Marie. Carrie was a hard worker and a proud wife and mother. Carrie worked for Banner Laundry and Hampton Cleaners for many years. After the closing of Hampton Cleaners; she gained employment with the City of St Louis at Homer G Phillips Hospital and later transferred to City #1 Hospital. She retired August 1, 1983. Carrie leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Agnes Marie (Calvin); two granddaughters, Kimberly La’Vonne (Robert) and Dacia Marie (Ronald); one grandson, Nathaniel Tyrell; nine grandchildren, Diara, Kylon, Nathaniel II, Robert II, Ravyn, Tanesha, Cynia, Tra’Lise and Tanilah and one great-great grandson, Kylon Jr.; one sister-in-law, Ethel Bryant of Long Beach, California; 22 nieces and nephews; a host of great-nieces and nephews; several cousins; and three special friends, Sarah Stafford, Beulah Kinnard and Georgia Brooks; and her Mercy Seat Family.
