Obituary for Bernard Dobbs

Visitation: 9am Saturday, October 20, 2012 Greater St. Paul Church 5503 Gilmore, St. Louis Service: 10am Interment: Monday, October 22, 2012 Laurel Hill Cemetery Bernard A. Dobbs was born on April 23, 1959 in New Madrid, Missouri to Charles McKenny and Sidney C. Dobbs. Bernard accepted Christ as his Lord and personal savior at an early age. He attended St. Louis Public Schools where he received his G.E.D. and later a certification in butchering. Bernard was highly intelligent and good with his hands, from boxing to electronics. His famous saying was “I am a man, I raised many, and respected by many.” Bernard was a fun-loving and caring person, who touched lives of so many peoples. Bernard was called from his earthly labors to a new home in glory on the morning of October 8, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Kelvin Dobb. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mary E. Sutton; his parents, Sidney Dobbs and Charles McKenny; four daughters, Pamela Dobbs, Gwendolyn, Patricia (Shelton), Janice Sutton; six sons, Raymond, Sr., Titus, Carl (Nicole), Anthony, Mark and Dale (Maria); numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Pamela A. Coleman; one special niece, Lakwaanza Dobbs. He also leaves in cherish memories highly honored, Carolyn Butler, Sandra Trotter, Ruth Giles, and Uncle Bobby Finney. He is also survived by and greatly missed by a host of beloved aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
