Obituary for Antelique Union Thomas

Antelique Dennette Union Thomas, lovingly called "Leak" made her debut in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 11, 1973 parents Maxine Union and James Williams. Her late grandparents: Julius Union Sr. (Gramps), and Pernellia Union (Mama Nell) were instrumental in her early years. Gramps took pride in being her primary babysitter. Leak's mother was the second youngest of seventeen (17) children and therefore, every night on Dillon Drive was a "slumber party." Antelique and her mother hit the highway and moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where she was blessed with a stepfather Frank Freeman Sr., and two brothers: Frank Jr. (Kojak) and Janay. As a young woman, Antelique was a" Lady on a Mission • where she would hunt down any and everyone who were possibly related. When the family moved back to St. Louis, she sharpened her skills as a cook and running her household by babysitting her little sister Dornique. Antelique attended public schools and Gramps took pride in enrolling her into Holy Guardian Angel Catholic School. Antelique joined The Good Community M.B. Church and was baptized by her late uncle, Pastor Herman Union Sr. She was active in the Youth Choir and on the Usher Board. Even though she did things her way, she loved God and just about every Saturday morning, you could catch her worshipping and praising God on the Family Prayer Line. Antelique visited Indianapolis extensively, spending time with close cousins, Tawanna and Travis, and other relatives.During one of her visits, she met the love of her life, Marcus Thomas. They became one on September 5,2003. Since that day, she boldly let anyone know that Marc was her husband. To this union, DaMarcus and Mahogany were born and they became part of Leak's Crew: Myeisha, Michael, Malik, Malyndia, Kevin, DaMarcus, and Mahogany. Her children were her pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time with them and her grandson Tylin. She shared a special bond with Tylin. The bond was stronger than s el and spoiling him just as much if not more than her children. Antelique loved taking family trips, fishing and gathering with friends and family . Every year she would take her children, along with a few of their friends and family members to The Kalahari. Each year the trip grew because Leak recruited more andore family members each year. Her love for the road is what kept her close to her relatives. Leak made sure her children knew their family by introducing them to all she could. Antelique touched the lives of all who knew her. The zest she had for life and her laughter could make anyone smile. look up "family" in the dictionary, she definitely defined it. She never let a moment pass where she did not express her FAMILY.
