You will go to the grave at a ripe old age like a sheaf of grain harvested at the proper time.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Richard McAlister Jr. of Saint Louis, Missouri announce his peaceful passing on November 19, 2024, at 7:43am after a short battle with cancer at the ripe age of 94. Faithful friends Vernell Green of Saint Louis, Missouri and Andrew Robinson of Conroe, Texas were at his side.
He is survived by Gwendolyn Ann McAlister, Letricia McAlister Guillory, Larone McAlister Smith, nine beloved grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, niece Marilyn McAlister Davis, one great nephew, one great-great nephew, two great-great nieces, and a host of friends.
Richard was born September 10, 1930, in Okolona, Mississippi to Richard McAlister Sr. and Ruby Hillard.
He was Honorably Discharged after twenty-year stint in the United States army. Fishing was his first love as well as gardening, mechanics, dominoes, and the art of making hog head cheese!
Viewing and Prayer will be held on November 25, 2024, at Greater St. Paul Missionary Church located at 5503 Gilmore Ave, St. Louis, MO 63120. Visitation and Celebration begin at 9:00am-10:30am. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63125 at 11:30am.
