Oliver Brown

Oliver E. Brown was born May 12, 1937 in Greenwood, Mississippi to the union of Lee Brown and Minerva Bryant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jean Thurmond Brown, two sons, Derron Brown and Lester Thurmond, one grandson, Renee Brown, and a great granddaughter, Passion Johnson. Oliver confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. On July 2, 1956, he was united in holy matrimony to Ruth Jean Thurmond. A year later, Oliver and Ruth moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Oliver was employed at the Transfiguration Lutheran Church for over forty years. He was also a member of Transfiguration, serving on the Usher Board. On Monday, January 22, 2018, Oliver departed this life, leaving those to cherish his memories: three loving daughters ~ Debra Brown, Renee´ Brown and Adrienne Renita Brown-Fox (Andrew); and one caring son ~ David Brown (Steve); two brothers ~ Henderson Brown of St. Louis and Mack Brown of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister-in-law ~ Magnolia Clark of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
