Mark Swanson

Mark was born June 15, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa. He passed away unexpectedly at home on November 1, 2024.



Mark was an area resident for over forty years. He enjoyed an almost 50 year career in the news-media industry in Iowa, Kentucky, and St. Louis. Prior to retiring, he spent 34 years working as a videographer and editor at both KSDK and KTVI. He also worked a number of games and events for the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams throughout his career in broadcasting.

In retirement, Mark continued to serve his union, IBEW Local 4. He was an avid couch coach for his beloved Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Blues, and St. Louis Cardinals.



Mark is survived by his wife Kathy of St. Louis, MO; his son Christopher (Robert) Alexander of Austin, TX; his daughter Nicki of St. Louis, MO; his mother Beverly of Omaha, NE; and two siblings. He was preceded in death by his father and two other siblings.
