Marcia Upchurch

Marcia Lynn Upchurch was born October 22, 1983 to Pamela Upchurch and Lynn Robert Smith in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the first and oldest daughter to their union. Marcia, who was affectionately known to all as “Pooh”, was a very sweet, strong and loving lady who fought long and hard. She was educated in the Rockwood School District. She continued her education and she obtained a degree in Phlebotomy and was a licensed Phlebotomist. Pooh liked the simple, but nice things in life, loved her family and had a flair for fashion. She loved shoes and clothes like NO other and kept her appearance in place at all times. She had a very close relationship with her son, mother, grandmother, her little sisters and the entire family. She had a smile that was contagious and lit up every room she entered. Even though she was often sick and hospitalized she kept a smile on her face and stayed optimistic when the doctors gave grave diagnosis. Being born with a rare form of Sickle Cell Anemia, her parents were told that she wouldn’t make it to see age seven, and as God would have it she made it past age seven! As time went on she was told that she would NEVER conceive and she wouldn't see age thirty...ONCE again, as God would have it she beat the odds and conceived a son, whom she affectionately called Her LIFE - Demaurie Major “Cash” Upchurch. She lived beyond age thirty, celebrating her thirty-first birthday this past October. She was a TRUE living testimony that when Man says NO, God says YES!!! Pooh, you’ve fought a PHENOMENAL fight and you’ve finished your course, now get your rest.
