Compton St. Louis, MO Service: 11am Interment: Lake Charles Park Cemetery, St. Louis , MO Issac Cosey (Ike) was born on December 16, 1949 to Adell Howard and Joe Rayborn, (both deceased) in St. Louis, Missouri. Issac accepted Christ as his personal Savior in his life at his young age. He attended St. Louis Public Schools, Forest Park Community College and Rolla University. Issac married Katheline Mack on November 5, 1967 . To their union were born 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys. Issac’s life long passion was singing. He started his first group at age 14. At age 19, he became lead singer of a rock group called Orange Sunshine, whom later became K.C. and the Sunshine Band. Later at age 22, he started his own group, known as The Five of a Kind, (also as lead singer). They toured many different cities. They opened up for many well known groups such as The Temptations, The Dramatics and The O’Jays. He stated his greatest moment of his career was when he opened up for James Brown at the Kiel, here in St. Louis in front of his family and friends. God gave him a voice that demanded attention, “words” spoken from the father of soul himself. After his battle with his illness, he went home to be with his father in heaven, peacefully in home. One word describes Issac —magnetism (a magnet). He drew people to him, through the words he spoke and the songs he sung. Cherishing his loving memories are his wife , Katheline Cosey; six children , Irene Cosey, Michael Cosey, Angela Cosey (Johnson), Labrina Cosey, Issac Cosey, Jr. and Christopher Cosey; 31 grandchildren, 1 deceased, Joshua Cosey; 15 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Samuel Howard (deceased), Lennard Howard, Bennard Howard, Edward Howard and Joe Rayborn, Jr.; six sisters , Caroline Howard, Karen Howard, Katie Williams (deceased), Mary Campbell, Tammy Wright and Michelle Johnson; one son-in-law , Michael Johnson; eight sisters-in-law , Brenda H., Debra H., Sheila H., Debra S., Brenda W., Ernestine N., Tracy R. and Shawn N.; brother-in-law, Shawn N; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
