George Montgomery

George Raft Montgomery was born on august 5, 1954, to Ora Mae and James Matthew Montgomery. Despite being autistic, George lived life to the fullest. He received his education through the St. Louis Special School District and later dedicated many years to volunteering at his family restaurant, Sweetie Pies. Known for his warm heart and friendly demeanor, George never met a stranger and was beloved by everyone he encountered.

George was passionate about traveling and explored many places, with Las Vegas being his favorite destination, often accompanied by his beloved sister Robbie. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan who never missed a game, whenever they played, everything else came to a halt. George also had a love for money and would jokingly ask for some, although he was serious. He always kept a scratch off ticket on hand, convinced he would become rich one day.
George was known affectionately to say these quotes; “Let me have your keys,” “Man, I’m taking your wife.”, “You got some money, give me some.” George was a real jokester, he always liked to make people laugh. He could not drive a car and didn’t have a license, but he wanted your keys.

George was baptized on July 23, 2023, under the leadership of Pastor Eric Battle at The House of Deliverance Church. On June 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, angels took George to his heavenly home.

George Raft Montgomery is survived by his devoted sisters, Robbie Montgomery, Linda Montgomery, and Janice O’Bannon, and his brother, Everett Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Mae and James Montgomery, his brothers James, Walter, Harold, and Robert, and his brother-in-law, Eddie O’Bannon. George also leaves behind nine nieces: Monique, Keescha, Michelle, Rhonda, Kim, Trish, Nya, Chelsea, and Chasity, as well as six nephews: Tim, Charles, Devon, Eric, Norell, and Walter. George will also be remembered fondly by a host of cousins, great nieces, and great nephews, friends, and his special friend, Tina.
