David Jones

David Henry Jones was born on December 9, 1949 to his beloved parents, Samuel David and Eva Jones in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents, brother, Jimmy Edward Jones, sister, Jamilah Morris and son, Samuel David Jones, all preceded him in death. David was a product of the St. Louis Public School System and graduated from Vashon High School. He served in the United States Army in 1966, during the Vietnam War. After receiving his honorable discharge, he began working for a meat packing company in Illinois. Later he worked for several companies as a CNA. David was joined in holy matrimony with Gloria Jean on March 28, 1978. A wonderful family was formed with David, Cheri and Rhonda. David moved to Dallas, Texas in 2006. He loved celebrating life with family and friends. He was always the life of the party, full of jokes and stories. David departed this life on July 31, 2016. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife ~ Gloria; one son ~ David L. Jones (Cheryl); two daughters ~ Cheri Blackman (Justin) of Albany, Georgia and Rhonda Coleman; two sisters ~ Cherita McCarthy of Dallas, Texas and Samira Evans (Ronald) of Dallas, Texas; one brother ~ Samuel Jones of Dallas, Texas; one brother-inlaw ~ Charles Morris, Jr.; four grandchildren ~ Cameron, Faith, Eva and Tyler; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends
