She was one out of eight siblings. Her mother, father, and 3 brothers ( Fred, Jake, and Gus) preceded her in death.

Clara was united in holy matrimony to Richard Twitty in 1968. To this union, one child was born, Darrin Twitty. Clara also extended her warm embrace, time, and loving grace to her extended family, whom she affectionately called her girls. Ann, Wanda, Jill, and Shont’e.

She received her education from St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from Sumner High School. She later attended St. Louis Community College.

She worked many years and retired from the State of Missouri as a caseworker in the Child Care Unit.

She gave her life to Christ while attending New Sunny Mount Missionary Baptist Church. In 1984, she joined Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Robert Ingram. She was instilled with a love of God and strong conviction of bible principles. It was at this tender age that she learned the hope of Christ. She kept this hope close to her heart throughout the remainder of her precious life.
