Brenda Louise Deadmon was born March 3, 1964, to the late Rev. David Deadmon Sr and Annie Pearl Deadmon. Brenda attended Springdale and Holman Elementary Schools. She also attended Berkeley Jr and Berkeley High School, Class of '82.
Brenda confessed Christ Jesus at an early age. She had a beautiful singing voice. She sang in the choir at her father's church. She sang in a quartet with the late Mary Johnson and the Heavenly Four Quartet. But at any moment, while the siblings were hanging around in the living room, talking, Brenda would strike out on a song, "HOLD ON," ironically, that was her favorite song. Immediately, the siblings would join in with the backup tunes. And if Mother Deadmon were home, it would not be long before she joined in. When the singing got good, Brenda would jump up and start performing her happy dance in the middle of the floor! When she pretended to faint in the spirit, Brenda would faint and fall all over her siblings!
Brenda worked for several customer service entities. She worked in restaurants and Childcare facilities because she loved people and wanted everyone to be happy. Her heart was filled with care and kindness, but do not ruffle her feathers, because she would respond. Brenda enjoyed laughing and joking around. Rest assured, a sarcastic joke or comeback was always stirring up in her!
During Brenda's time of quartet singing, she met Matthew O. Johnson, the love of her life. Three children were born into this union, Matthew Sr, Chelsey, and Roland. There was nothing or nobody that could come between this union. If anyone tried, Brenda stayed ready for a battle. Her love for Matthew was extraordinary. It was the epitome of commitment.
In the meantime, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, we received the good news for Brenda Louise Johnson, GOD HAD SPOKEN! Brenda's change had arrived. She put off that old crippled, pain filled, soft spoken, and corrupt body, put on immortality. God said, "No more my child, it's time to Rest."
