Beneva “Honey” Rimson, was born August 4, 1944, in Money, Mississippi to Bennie Mae Murry and Edger Spencer. She was the second oldest of eleven siblings. Beneva was also known to her friends as Bea or Ms. Bea.
As a child she liked double-dutch, baseball and dodgeball. She graduated from Hadley Tech, now Vashon High, in 1962. She met and married Jimmy Rimson. They had two children, Rodney Everett Rimson and Leslie Arlene Rimson.
At the age of eighteen, she started her career at Boeing in the tool crib. She was promoted to a clerical position and remained at Boeing for over thirty years. She retired at 55 but remained active.
She enjoyed shopping, fashion, and thrifting especially at the Goodwill on weekends. In her words, she had to “coordinate.” She actively walked park trails with her friends, attended dance classes & the YMCA. She developed a community of friends at the YMCA on Page where they met up for water aerobics. She continued to coordinate with a swimsuit for everyday of the month with water shoes to match. She also enjoyed challenging puzzles such as 1000-piece puzzles. She later adapted her skills using technology to computer games, especially electronic word games and puzzles.
Honey accepted Christ in her life and committed to her Christian faith. She was a member of the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was in the choir where she sang the Lord’s praises in alto. She also sang lead on several songs. Sister Rimson later joined the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church of Jennings.
Sister Rimson made transition on December 5, 2023. Preceding her: her mother - Bennie Mae Hughes, three sisters – Margie, Barbara, and Annetta, one brother Kenneth, three nephews – Leon, Cortez, and Kevin, and a niece - Dione.

And soon to continue her legacy Amir K. Honeywood, her first great grandchild.
