Barbara Slaughter

Barbara, (affectionately called Jeannie) was born as the youngest child to the late Henderson and Juanita Gines in St. Louis, MO. Her brother, Henderson (Boots) preceded her in death.   Barbara accepted Christ at an early age.  She was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools, graduated from Northwest H. S. and attended Florissant Valley community college. Barbara was ordained as an Evangelist under Dr. William Davis of Family of Faith MB Church Family.  She loved the Lord, sharing the Gospel and serving in the church.  She served as Sunday School teacher for the primary and preschool children and she was involved with "Reach One, Bring One" community outreach. Barbara was an avid bowler and enjoyed listening to sermons and gospel music and sharing her heartfelt faith as a Christian Witness. Barbara transitioned into her new life Wed. Jan. 13, 2016 at 7:32pm at Christian Northeast Hospital. Barbara leaves to mourn her memory: daughters Serena Bullock and Shondra Slaughter, co-parent Deon Slaughter, siblings Juanita Curtis of Huntsville, AL and Dr. Bobby (Dr. Brenda) Gines, sister-in-law Jan Gines of Omaha, NE, aunt Flora Brown of Denver, CO and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
