Obituary for Shirley Wells

Shirley Wells was born Feb. 14, 1948 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Ernestine and Joe Nathan Wells.  Shirley was the youngest of six children. She was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools. Shirley's devotion to her family was her top priority. As a young woman Shirley held a position in the nursing care field, but she devoted most of her life to being a homemaker.  Cooking was the part of taking care of her family that Shirley loved the most.  Her cooking was well known and loved by her family and friends.  When Shirley was not in the kitchen, she could often be found reading a plethora of novels or watching movies.  Shirley was also known for playing a mean hand of spades and dominoes.  She will be remembered as a "people person" with a sense of humor that would spark laughter in any room. Shirley Wells departed this life on Tues. Jan. 5, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernestine and Joe Nathan Wells; and four siblings, Verma Lou, Vinita Doris, Joe Nathan Jr., and Ernestine Beasley.  She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Mr. Levi Jones.  She leaves to cherish her memory: a sister, Barbara Jean Glenn; three nieces, Renee Anderson, Taijuana Wells, Suzanne Anderson, one nephew, Derrick Wells and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
