Obituary for Michael Taylor

Michael Wayne Taylor was born April 2, 1954 in Kewanee, MO to Frankye Taylor and Wiley Young. Michael was the oldest of four children.  Growing up primarily in St. Louis, MO, Michael attended St. Louis Public Schools. As a young man, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1972.  During his tenure in the army, he received the National Defense Service Medal and while in Korea, he received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.  After his years of service in the Army, he secured a position as a Longshoreman in which his travels took him to many countries overseas. Michael was an avid reader with emphasis on mystery novels. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Frankye Taylor, Wiley Young and Vernon Taylor.  Michael is survived by two sisters, Newoka Taylor of Ohio, Hope Dorton of California, one stepsister, Geraldine Gaines of Missouri; three brothers, Marcus Taylor of California, Anthony Young of Chicago, Illinois; four aunts, Ernestine Graham (considered as his second mother), Orlene Wright, Louise Graham and Earlene Hardeman; two great aunts. Betty Teague and Mary Margaret Graham; two uncles, Edison (Janet) Clinkscale and Edward Clinkscale; two great uncles, Charles McKinney (Jean) and Fred Graham Sr. and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
