Obituary for Lakeesha "Keesha" Morris

On March 16, 1979, God blessed Sheila Morris and Elvin Holmes, Sr. with a beautiful, happy baby girl who they named Lakeesha “Keesha” Joy Morris. Her father, Elvin, was waiting for her in heaven. Lakeesha received her education in the St. Louis Public School District and Parkway School District. She later went on to receive a G.E.D. and continued her education at St. Louis Community College. She also studied at Vatterott College as a Medical Assistant. With her pleasant attitude and proper phone voice, naturally Keesha made her mark in the Customer Service Industry. However, her true passion was styling hair. This is a talent that was a gift passed down to her from her greatgrandmother. Although she never received her license in cosmetology, Keesha was a true artist when it came to doing hair. Keesha did not have a church home but she often visited local churches including Bridge of Hope. She had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior. Keesha had a big heart and a warm, gentle spirit. She had the brightest smile and no matter what she was dealing with, she kept that smile on her face. Keesha was very smart and loved to read. She was also a loving mother who enjoyed spending quality time with her children. On Saturday, January 30, 2016, through a senseless act of violence, Keesha lost her life. Although the circumstances were unfortunate, we know that God was ready for His child to come home. She was called home and is now at peace. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her mother ~ Sheila Morris; one brother ~ Antoine Morris (Tanya); four handsome sons ~ Dylan, Devin, Darrion and Demond Hart; two gorgeous daughters ~ Kirsten and Kanaya Hart; her grandfather ~ Arthur Morris (Mae); one special cousin ~ Almetha Coleman; two dear friends ~ Luchae and Chnae Manning; and a host of family and friends.
