Obituary for Jodi Athena Bernice Henry (Sanders)

In Loving Memory

Jodi Athena Bernice Henry-Towns was a loving woman who deeply cared for her family. She always made sure to make room in her life for those who were most important. Jodi was a dependable woman, loved by anyone who met her. She carried an inviting spirit that gave them the strength to be themselves. She was also very firm in her decisions and who she allowed access into her space. Jodi’s deepest love has always been for her husband and children.

Passing five months after her late husband, Brandon Jai Towns, Jodi is survived by their nine children and her parents. Jorre, Jani’ya, Ja’Bori, Erynn, Jai’Dynn, Jenesis, Jurnee’, Brandon Jr., and Brooklyn. Brought into this world by Deborah Ann Sanders-Vankast and Joseph Henry.

A very selfless woman, Jodi spent the majority of her life caring for others. As a little girl she dreamed of becoming an Obstetrician Gynecologist. She managed to obtain her license as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist and Licensed Practical Nurse. Jodi planned on returning to school to gain licensure as a Registered Nurse. Jodi’s resilience and determination gave her strength to defy all odds by any means, regardless of doubts made by herself and others. Grounded in perseverance and humility, Jodi accomplished many of her career goals all while mothering her children.

A special message to niece: Forever my Poohbear, I love and appreciate you so much. I will rest knowing you have everyone’s best interest.
