Obituary for Hyla Greene

Hyla V. Greene was preceded in death by three sisters Audrey (Robert) Edwards, Ollie Mae Winters and Ritta Elaine Miller. She leaves behind: two sons ~ Copeland (Sybil) Mack and Cornell Galbreath; one sister ~ Quantriel Pruitt; two grandsons ~ Chamberlain Mack and Copeland Cibrien Mack; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends; and special dear friends ~ Dorothy Sewell and Daisy Hill. Hyla liked to travel, she has seen many parts of the world. Some of her favorite places were Germany and Italy. She enjoyed spending time with both her sons always traveling back in fourth to Atlanta and Lexington. She loved and adored her grandsons Chamberlain and Cibrien who she always encouraged them to do their best. Although she won’t see them graduate from college, she will be walking across the stage with them. She really enjoyed family and always encouraged us to continue the family reunions. She was mom to a lot of people. Several of Cornell’s friends in Atlanta used to tell him you have to share your mom because she’s my mom also. She truly help raise the village. “Someone very close to us has passed on. We stand bewildered, alone, and sadly stricken. In our grief, we bring words of gratitude for all the rich gifts mom brought into our lives. Grant us now Lord, the courage to carry on in the spirit that she has bestowed upon our lives. Empower us to think and grow in harmony with one purpose and spirit which mom would approve and inspire. May we be true to her memory?” ~ Love you Mom, Grandma ~
