Henrine Shepherd was born February 5, 1943 in Yazoo County, Mississippi to Ruthia Mae Banks (Matt Jones) and Jordan Jefferson. She was married in 1965 to Bennie Shepherd. Her husband, mother, father, two sisters and son preceded her in death. She found love again with Robert Jordan for 30 years. She confessed in Christ at an early age in Mississippi at Watergrove African Methodist Episcopal Church in Yazoo County. Henrine attended Vashon High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She worked at Incarnate Word Hospital and the President Casino. She was a devoted mother and wife. Henrine planted smiles on everyone’s face she met. Known as the “keep it real” kind of person that we loved dearly. Being herself and not holding her tongue no matter what. She was a glow of love and spirits you’d feel whenever you came around her. God called her home on April 25, 2018. Henrine leaves to cherish her loving memories: her brothers ~ Willie (Maudette) Jefferson of St. Louis, Missouri, Jimmy (Ella) Jones of Madison, Mississippi, Jordan (Lou) Jefferson, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona and William (Mary) Lofton of Chicago, Illinois; one aunt ~ Annie Mae Washington of Detroit, Michigan; three children ~ Jeanette Jefferson, Marvin Shepherd and Kimberly Ludgood; one stepson ~ Dwayne Ludgood; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two goddaughters ~ Jackie Hamilton-Johnson and Monique Sellers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
