Angela (Lisa) Stevenson was born on November 19, 1965 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the union of the late Irene and James Stevenson. Angela was the third of five children. Her parents and her older brother Leonard Stevenson preceded her in their transition. On Sunday, February 4, 2018, Angela was called home to be with the Lord. She was born, raised and educated in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Northwest High School. She went on to further her education at Saint Louis Job Corp where she obtained her Certified Nursing Certification. Later in life, Angela was employed by Whelan Event Services as a Security Officer, she worked there for a little over six months and became an asset very quickly. She accepted Christ at an early age while at her mother’s church, New Salem Baptist Church in Saint Louis, Missouri. Angela loved to travel, just this past summer she got to visit Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Chicago and Tennessee with her granddaughter, Michiya’s dance team whom she loved to cheer on from the sidelines. Angela loved her family, everyone from the oldest to the youngest member, got that special “spoiled sauce” she loved to give out. “Blessing”, as her husband Michael would call her, was just that to anyone that encountered her. Angela was well known in her neighborhood also, she would open her home to almost anyone who needed somewhere to stay. She was an earthly Angel with a heart of gold, I would challenge you to find someone that would say any different. Angela (Jack of All Trades) loved to spend her free time fixing almost everything, from great food to furnaces, air conditioners, televisions, stoves, lawnmowers, your life, cars, plumbing and the list goes on, she really did it ALL! Angela leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy: her husband ~ Michael Carothers; her children ~ Steven Spratt (Nikki), Latonya Carothers-Baldwin (Greg), Ashley Carothers (Quinton), Marquis and Dominque Carothers; her aunts ~ Johnye M. Lane and Arnetta L. Nelums of Chicago, Illinois; her uncle ~ James Crawford; her siblings ~ Lawrence Stevenson (Marquitta), Carolyn Stevenson, Jackie Stevenson and best friend/sis Irma Smith; her grandchildren ~ Tatyana, Keelen, Brianna, Jaiden, Michiya, Daquan, Layah and Aubrey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Angela was a jewel who will be deeply missed by many.
