Obituary for Alice Gill

Alice Naomi Gill was born June 29, 1946, in Clayton, Missouri to the union of James Gill, Sr. and Euries Gill. Her parents and one sister, Winnie D. Miller preceded her in death. Naomi was educated in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District. She graduated from Maplewood High School in 1964. Growing up, she was intrigued by things that challenged her mind. She would spend her time trying to figure out complex word games and puzzles, but found the most joy in visiting her family in Milwaukee. Naomi was extremely generous and kind; she had a love for music and would often find peace in listening to gospel tunes. Ever so often, you’d find her bobbing to a few favorite R&B hits! Naomi’s spirituality was unwavering. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Naomi enjoyed studying her Bible and was a devoted participant of Bible Study Fellowship in Rock Hill. She leaves to cherish her memory: one sister ~ Annie Jewell Lewis of California; one brother ~ James Gill, Jr. (Glenda); three nephews ~ Vincent Lewis, Joe Lewis (Lisa) and Duane Gill; one niece ~ Carmen Gill; one great nephew ~ Vincent Jr.; two great nieces ~ Nia Lewis and Marley Gill; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
